Fire Damper Surveys

Where ductwork penetrates a fire barrier within a building, fire dampers are incorporated into the ventilation system and become an integral part of the buildings fire strategy. They provide a barrier which slows the spread of a fire and helps create time for evacuation and damage limitation. To ensure the fire strategy is effective it is imperative that the dampers are working correctly. BS 9999:2017 specifies that all fire dampers should be drop tested, cleaned and maintained at least every year.
